The Cohousing Association of the US (CohoUS) is a national nonprofit that seeks to advance cohousing and shift the culture toward a new American dream where every home is surrounded by caring, collaborative neighbors who use less of the earth’s resources while living an abundant life.
With nearly 20,000 registered users, the CohoUS site provides numerous services to the cohousing community including directory services, a robust classified system, events focused on starting and running a successful cohousing community, an institute designed to help users in all facets of the cohousing journey and numerous other resources.
Kyle has worked with CohoUS since 2018 as their primary developer. During this period, user engagement has increased nearly 40% while continuing to make the site more responsive to user needs and better serve the community.

Since January 2025, the calendar facilitated 85 event submission with March alone showcasing 21 events.
For the past 30 days ending June 30, 2025, 34 individual events have been viewed for a total of 109 times with the top 5 events comprising nearly 40% of all calendar traffic. Users can browse past, present and upcoming events.
The community map is a Leaflet-based venue map auto-populated by location metadata.
The classifieds system allows for user-submitted ads where the CohoUS staff can moderate. This is a discrete revenue source for the association.
